What an exciting month we have had in Big Comets! We have had glorious weather as we explored our “Spring and Nature” theme. This month has been filled with craft activities from making butterfly handprints and nature sticking with Ruthie, to making caterpillars on leaves and rainbow collages with Natacha.

Big Comet’s have been very fortunate to have some very special visitors come to nursery this month. First we had two Police Officers and we got to dress up in police hats and vests. We listened to the noise of the police car and learned that Police Officers are here to help us. The following week we had two dentists come to our room to teach us about brushing our teeth and staying healthy. We even got to brush our teeth as we listened to the ‘Baby Shark’ song; it was fantastic!

During the month we have all worked hard to create wonderful crafts to go into our Easter baskets that we sent home over the Easter break. We had lots of fun with the Easter basket competition, producing some beautiful baskets as well as even having a sack race!

This month we have celebrated St. George’s Day, talking about dragons and princesses. We made dragons using paper plates and egg cartons as well as colouring themed sheets! We have also talked about World Penguin day, painting cups black and adding details to make penguins!

The Big Comet children have shown a huge interest in stories this month so we have started our new topic, Story Tales. Already we made up our very own story about a boy called Patrick and his Best Friend, Max the Black Zebra! Laura and Emma have worked very hard to recreate the Three Little Pigs story, creating messy play full of straw, making pigs and using a big box as their houses. We are excited to see where this story theme takes us!

In Big Comet’s we have been celebrating each other as we move on to new beginnings, share birthdays and the success of winning awards and collecting stamps! We wish Jack and Will good luck as they move up to the preschool room, Rockets. Well done to Walter, Evelyn and Sam who have won our Star of the Week and Good Friend awards. A big well done to Alicia, Xavier, Jack, Cerys and Eva who all collected 10 stamps and got their prizes!

Finally, in Big Comet’s we have begun sending out friend, Kristina Bear home with the child who has won star of the week. We are looking forward to see your adventures our friendly bear!
