Twinkles 3mths-18mths.

Our baby room is situated on the first floor. It is the perfect calm environment for your child to start their early years education.

The rooms are very spacious bright and clean with lots of toys which are easily accessed by children. The Twinkles staff are carefully selected to meet the needs of all the babies. They are particularly skilled in providing a loving, caring environment for your child. Activities are constructed to encourage the babies to explore the environment around them in a safe and secure way.

The babies have their own outside play area with a log cabin which is specially designed to help them develop crawling, walking, talking and exploring their five senses.

When the Twinkles are indoors there are two upstairs rooms which make it ideal for splitting the children into different age groups. There is also a separate sleep room which enables us to match your routine at home exactly to ensure children settle very quickly into nursery.

The younger babies will gain stimulation from appropriate toys and adult interaction during the day. They will be given the opportunity to explore new experiences as they progress through the early months with particular emphasis on the five senses.

Older babies will explore painting, sand and water play. They will play with toys, play dough, enjoy food mixing, garden play and soft cushioned tumble play. Story time will be an important inclusion on a daily basis. Story time will be an important inclusion on a daily basis.

During the day the Twinkles staff record relevant information in a daily communication book for you to take home. From a parents perspective your child’s routine and patterns will be discussed with staff during your settling sessions. All the routines that you have established will be followed at the nursery to minimise the settling period for your child.

There is an extra activity available for the Twinkles at a small extra charge – we have Jo Jingles visit the nursery on a Thursday. Jo Jingles is music and movement class which is a great way to start encouraging your child to move along to music from as young as 3 months. Jo Jingles continues through all ages of the nursery. For the young ones the children are encouraged to use musical instruments, dance and sing. This is a great confidence builder in the young children. There are parachute games that are played to help with co-ordination which is a brilliant help when babies are learning to walk. See the Activities page for more details.
