Rockets parents please don’t forget “Gradstonbury” on Saturday June 25th. The children who are leaving Rockets to start school in September are invited, along with, Mums, Dads, Siblings, Grandparents et el to join us at their Graduation and leaving “Festival" This is to be held on the field at Baden Powell School from 2.30 pm. There will be music, dancing, food, outside theatre as the Rockets perform - The Litter Muncher, as well as the presentation of certificates in mortar boards and gowns.Please bring along your picnic blankets/chairs and get in to the festival feel of the afternoon. Hippie fancy dress (for you and the children) is optional – fingers crossed there will be no need for wellies though!

We have been busy in Big Comets exploring the outdoors this month. We have been going out in the sun and rain and we were even lucky enough to see it snow. The children loved collecting the snow and hail to see how it felt.

This month, as the weather has been getting better, we have spent some time in the garden working on our physical development! We have been climbing slides, using the trampoline, playing with bead frames (to help our hand-eye coordination) and building towers with blocks.

This month in Twinkles we have been focusing a lot on arts and crafts, messy play and sensory play. We've been using our outside space to get really messy with sand and water, learning how to mix, pour and build sandcastles!

Rockets have been super busy in the garden over the last month – taking the inside out! Rachel, our lovely gardener has joined us in planting seeds with the children, no we need some sun and rain to make them grow!

We have been busy exploring the outdoors and the local community. We walked to the shops to buy new food to try for snack. This included pineapple, plum and fresh bread with pate. The children helped carry the food back in their own little bags and investigated what we could buy in all the shops.

All the children enjoyed making lots of Easter craft this month. We made cards, decorated bags, Easter chicks, and used different materials to decorate our pictures.

Little Stars Sport’s Day was held on a very cold, but thankfully dry, Saturday in March. For the first time the annual event was open to all age groups and was very, very well supported. From the babies crawling races, to bean bags in hoops concentration was rife from Twinkles and Little Comets…..there was the added incentive of a little treat at the finish line for the littlest participants but fun and laughter was had by all!

Your Little Sports Star Is invited to take part in the Little Stars Olympics Saturday March 19th 10 am – 12noon. At Baden Powell and St Peters School Sports Field.

All proceeds will go directly to Beautiful Gate, a residential and medical centre that cares for abandoned, HIV/AIDS affected, orphaned and abandoned children aged 0 – 5 years in Maseru, Lesotho. Little Stars will be working closely with this centre through the visit of Stephanie (from Rockets) and a team of her friends in October this year.
